Did you know that Tahini is from sesame seeds? It is made by pressing the seeds and using them as an ingredient in different foods. This post will focus on doing activities with Tahini on a sunny day. Tahini is used in many ways, from being in tahini toast to being used as dips for bread or vegetables and sauces for pasta or rice. It can also be used as a spread on sandwiches, especially for falafel!

Earthy Roasted Beets with Tahini and Capers
Let the beets drop! We love earthy sweet beets. Beets are an excellent source of iron and fiber. Sesames are an ideal source of plant protein, healthy fat, and calcium! Together they make a colorful side dish that will leave you energized and satisfied.
Ingredients
-
4 medium beetroots
-
4 tbsp capers
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
4 tbsp FUN Sesames Tahini
-
Salt and Pepper to taste
Method
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Rinse beets and then wrap each beet completely up in foil. Place on a baking sheet and bake for anywhere from 45-90 minutes, depending on the size of the beet. Remove from the oven when thoroughly cooked. Beets are ready when you can easily pierce them with a fork. Allow beets to cool and carefully transfer them to a cutting board. Slice the root end and top of the beet. Using a kitchen towel, or paper towel, rub the skin from the beet. It should easily come off. Discard. Slice each beet into ¼ inch medallions. Then toss in a bowl with 1 tbsp of olive oil, capers, salt, and pepper.
Plate and drizzle with tahini or leave it out in a separate bowl and allow guests to drizzle over their dish, individually. Perfect on a Sunny Tahini Day!
